The Five Corners Parkette

Situated at King Street West and William Street, this small piece of Town property was developed as a park for the Society's Millennium Project. The landscape design was by Miriam Mutton, the arbour built by member Keith Discipline, the sign carved by Arnold Cornelius and the labour and planting done by members. It was funded by income from the club’s charity bingo participation. The objective was to create a gateway to the downtown that would be attractive in all seasons. On June 12, 2000 the Town Council approved the plans and on June 2, 2001 the Mayor attended the official opening. The garden is maintained by a small group of member volunteers led by Anne Hancock.

The Rose garden, formally known as the Edwin R. Haynes’s Memorial White Rose Garden, boasts over 100 rose bushes, mostly white and of several different varieties and two pergolas covered in climbing roses. Situated in the north end of Victoria Park, the garden is maintained by volunteer members of the Cobourg Garden Club led by Anne Hancock and Judith Goulin. We are always looking for volunteers to help out in the garden.
